Prime RV Adventure Time

RVing can be Prime Time! Let's ask Blacky there.

Two Men and A Dog

John, I and the doggies took a break from our RV campground hosting adventure to walk around the docks of Morro Bay. These guys look totally engrossed in what they are doing!

Back to Morro

I'm back to my RV adventure in beautiful Morro Bay, California and The Rock, foggy days, boats, the campground and the ocean. I'm inspired to eat healthier from my recent trip to Ojai.

A Little Pot

These little pots are made by Janet Jacobs Pottery. I saw them at the Ojai Lavender Festival this past weekend. They are so beautiful in color and size. If I were in a house, I would buy a collection. But, no room in the Jazz (our fifth wheel trailer) as we continue on our RV adventure. Well...I'm going to rethink that. Maybe they are just the right size for the Jazz.

Ojai Hats

Everyone seemed to be wearing a hat at yesterday's Lavender Festival in Ojai, California. And this hat booth was quite busy. Today ends Nancy and my stay in Ojai. I head back to my RV campground host adventure and to John and the doggies.

Pink

I couldn't resist shooting this hat at today's Lavender Festival in Ojai, California. Notice the clash of cultures - the hoodie and the hat.

Ojai Oranges

Nancy and I came upon an orange orchard in Ojai, California today. We couldn't resist getting out and taking a few shots.

A Respite from the RV Adventure

This weekend I'm staying at the Villa Ojai in Ojai, California. It is such a great break from being in a 29-foot fifth-wheel trailer. The RV adventure will have to wait for a few days. That's actually a hammock on the back patio. I'm going to try it out tomorrow.

California Poppies

California poppies are bursting out everywhere. As I drive along Highway 101/1 south towards Ojai today, I see the orange blossoms all along the highway.

Waiting for the Fish to Fall

Brown pelicans have been part of this RV adventure on the Central California Coast since we started nine months ago. These guys were waiting patiently for a Morro Bay fisherman's discards from his fish cleaning process. They are such big beautiful birds!

Dock Scene Morro Bay

It's foggy this morning in Morro Bay - as it often will be this summer. A favorite part of being on an rv adventure but being in one place for a while as campground hosts is that I get to study a scene and return to take photos over and over.

Sea Shanty

My favorite place for breakfast is Sea Shanty in Cayucos - four miles north of Morro Bay.  Its was a great place to take my RV adventurer camp host husband John for Father's Day. There's a great patio for sitting outside.

A Granddad's Father's Day RV Adventure

I love this scene. The picture was taken on the Cambria coastline (thirty minutes or so north of Morro Bay). The children play while the adults luxuriate in the sun. Wouldn't the granddads love this for a Father's Day outing?

Gingee and Dakota's RV Adventure Stop

Our Cavalier King Charles Spaniel Gingee and our 15-year-old Australian Shepherd Dakota taking a break on Morro Strand State Beach in Cayucos, California. They just love a free romp! And this is a very nice beach!

RV Adventure Stop

This is the view from the boardwalk a few miles north of San Simeon on Highway 1 in Central Coast California. Lots of recreational vehicle (RV) adventurers stop by for a view of the ocean, the distant rock structures and the elephant seals.

Clutter Clutter Toil and Rubble

While walking around the docks in Morro Bay, I came upon this fishing boat. I wondered what they do with all the clutter when they're fishing.

A Yard With a View

Yesterday, while over in Cayucos, California (4 miles north of Morro Bay), I took a short coastal access trail that bordered someone's home. Their yard was so colorful and lively!

A Matter of Taste

While walking around the little town of Cambria, about 30 miles north of Morro Bay, John and I passed by this shop named A Matter of Taste. I love the bouganvilla out front.

Blue Fog

Although I am a sun worshipper, I must say that I am loving what the Morro Bay fog can add to the atmosphere of a photo.

Baby Seal

While walking along Morro Bay's boardwalk, I looked down and there on the rocks was a baby harbor seal, sleeping soundly. Precious!

Seagull Takes Flight

It was foggy in Morro Bay all day long today (except for a few hours first thing this morning). As we walked along the waterfront, this seagull extended its wings. I was in awe of its beauty and the length of those wings.

Taking it Slow

John and Gingee take a rest after walking around the elephant seal rookery north of San Simeon, California. Gingee is two years old next month. She's become a daddy's girl.

Something to Crow About

He stared at me on a windy day. Couldn't resist.

Fishing Boat Stuff

The Morro Bay area has an active fishing industry. Fishing boats are tied all along the dock.

Fog Over Morro Rock

I am loving the fog in Morro Bay. This scene was taken in the fishing district of the Morro Bay Harbor. That's Morro Rock all enveloped by the fog.

Fish Market and More

Walking the boardwalk area of downtown Morro Bay can be fun especially on weekends and holidays. Lots going on. A musician was singing inside while customers ate and carried away their purchases for another meal.

Foggy Marina

The other evening, John and I along with the doggies walked around the old marina at Morro Bay State Park. Lots of character here! The marina is part of the the larger Morro Bay estuary.

Smokestacks in the Fog

On a walk yesterday with John through the seaside section of Morro Bay, California, I was awed by the fog and the hydroelectric power plant smokestacks that are just as visible throughout the area as the famous Morro Rock.

Gingee Loves Seashells

Gingee loves smelling the things we haul up from Morro Strand State Beach. The shells, the sticks, the sea plants. She falls asleep with her nose next to a pile of beach treasures.

Los Osos Road Farm (Between Los Osos and San Luis Obispo)

I took Los Osos Road from San Luis Obispo back to Morro Bay this morning. I'd just shopped at Trader Joe's. This farm/ranch and the yellow mustard on the hills caught my eye.

Elephant Seals on Beach in San Simeon, California

Today John and I took the doggies and drove thirty minutes north on Highway 1 to a beach north of San Simeon to look at the elephant seals. This is molting season. The brown ones are molting. The silvery ones have already molted.

Morro Bay Art Center Window

This window at the Art Center in uptown Morro Bay drew me right into the building. It was a pleasant outing and I viewed some great local art.

My Favorite Laundromat

This is my favorite Laundromat here in Morro Bay. I like it because it is in the uptown area and has lots of neat places to walk and to photograph. I also like the cool mural.

Fuel Dock

This is the Fuel Dock in uptown Morro Bay. Look closely at who is standing in the door.

Under Highway 1 in Morro Bay

As we walked along Morro Strand Beach this weekend, we came upon a creek that ran under Highway 1. I was taken by the light and shadows under the bridge.
