Photography Contest Entries

I have entered The Center for Photographic Art annual photography contest. This is the first photo contest that I have ever entered. There was not a theme so entries were wide open. This made it hard for me to decide what to submit. I looked through new and old (from the past year) photographs and entered three of my favorites. Interestingly they were older rather than more recent. And they were taken with my old lenses versus the two new ones.

All of my entries are Central Coast California shots taken while campground hosting in various locations.
The first was taken in San Luis Obispo at 10660 Los Osos Valley Road this past summer. The location was dotted with old vehicles and junk. It was one of my favorite sites.
The second shot was taken last spring in Sonoma County. These are old vines from the Kenwood Vineyard.
The last shot of farm workers harvesting broccoli was taken on Los Osos Valley Road between Morro Bay and San Luis Obispo this past summer.

Tell me what you think of my choices. Do you enter photo contests? What would you have submitted?

I am glad you entered the contest. First pic of the steering wheel and dash of the Chevy ( 1954 I believe ) was a favorite when you first posted it. Good choice. Pic of the field workers is also a good choice.

Have never entered a contest, but you give all of us amateurs inspiration. I just know we all are rooting for you!

Good Choices, They all have a story that the viewer must create in his mind.

They are all great entires - each are very well composed and wonderful subjects.

I do enter those that I find and are free. The first couple can be hard on the ego if you do not place - don't worry if this becomes the case - keep shooting and sharing the pics! -;0)

I like all the pictures, but middle one really calls to me. Good luck.

Your pictures ARE that good and they ARE unique. When I was taking pictures the other day, I thought of yours and wondered how to improve mine! You might want to offer pointers :)

This is an exciting step forward in your photography career...I like all of the pictures that you chose but it must have been hard to choose only three...exciting!!!

I really like the first one ... I don't enter contests per se, but have submitted a few to Fodor's ... http://2totravel.blogspot.com/2009/08/congrats-two-of-your-photos-appear-in.html. It's rewarding to have others appreciate the fruits of our photography labors.

Good pictures full of color and strength. Like the first, the colors of the rust of neglect, the wheel of another time ..
Greetings

Great Photos! Beautiful & Very Insightful. The abandoned car engulfed in cobwebs is superb! Wishing you the very best in the photo contest!

All three are great - number one is probably my favorite just because I love rusty stuff. Number 3 is interesting to me because I'm currently in Yuma and am always fascinated by how fast they pick the broccoli.

It is the person behind the camera that is important - not the lenses :-)

I'll vote for the first one. Good luck!

I think the top image is fantastic. Good luck in the contest! When do you find out if you've placed?

I love taking photos but I'm not a professional by any means.
