Sights Seen

This is the view of the coast from Ventana Inn and Spa in Big Sur (California).

John and I took a quick trip to San Luis Obispo (Central Coast California) the other day. John gave me a new lens for my camera. This is the first shot I took with it down there on the street.

Shots From Wharf # 2

These are additional shots from our trip to Wharf # 2 in Monterey (California) the other day.  Old vehicles have so much character. I love photographing them.

This shot was taken from Wharf # 2 as I looked out towards Fisherman's Wharf.

Another shot from Wharf # 2. It says "sanctuary." It felt that way in that moment. A great excursion from campground hosting and the RV adventure.

Monterey Seafood Industry

On our outing from campground hosting in Big Sur the other day, we explored Wharf # 2 in Monterey (California). The Wharf is home to an active fishing industry.

Royal Seafoods is the largest warehouse on the Wharf.

These carts are used for moving the seafood brought in on boats.
Monterey is a wonderful small city of about 30,000 people. It is a pleasure to take time from our RV adventure to get to know this beautiful part of Central Coast California better.

A Trip Into Monterey (California)

John and I took a trip into Monterey (California) from Big Sur yesterday. A thirty minute drive. The day was mildly foggy. The light was forgiving. I love the blue in this old Karmann Ghia that was parked on Wharf #2.

This Harbour Sea guarded its territory. I watched it fend off at least one other Seal that would have liked that spot.

\

Wharf #2 in Monterey is a working fishing dock. There is also a marina filled with boats. I'll share more photos of our RV adventure break from being campground hosts tomorrow.

Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park - The Falls

Saturday was a cool foggy day for visiting Julia Pfeiffer Burns State Park (Big Sur, California). Seeing McWay Falls was a nice break from campground hosting and a beautiful stop on our RV adventure.

Pretty in Pink

While shopping at the little grocery store at Ripplewood (Big Sur, California), I caught sight of this little lovely. I think the light in the photo is fun. What do you think?

Where River meets Sea

If still waters run deep, what happens with moving waters? (A shot from Andrew Molera State Park. This is where the Big Sur River meets the Pacific Ocean.)
