Just Another Day?

This morning after weighing in at a stable 186 lbs. (at least I didn’t gain), John and I headed out to Morro Bay’s spic and span McDonald’s for breakfast. I ordered my one fatty breakfast for the week – a delicious sausage biscuit.

While at McDonald’s I helped a visitor from Poland get signed onto Skype with his electronic notebook. John and I sipped our espresso drinks and munched away as Frank spoke to his wife back in Poland in their Polish language.

Today was laundry day, so I set off straight from McDonald’s via Los Osos Highway to my favorite San Luis Obispo Laundromat. On the way over, I shot a few pictures using my new 70-300mm, 4-5.6 lens.

This farm is producing fields of brightly colored flowers.

Workers harvested and packaged broccoli for transport to grocery stores locally and far away. I am always amazed by the sight of people doing this work.

In SLO, I packed the washer, grabbed my camera and set out walking to the nearest residential
neighborhood. I passed a small florist's booth on the way (above scene).

At the first house in the neighborhood, I caught this honey bee at work.

People had planted beautiful flowers in their front yards.

I love the idea of growing food in one's yard. Citrus does well in Central Coast California.
And more beautiful flowers...

All in all, I had a delightful morning and early afternoon today. Photography is sure a great way to make use of that time between washing and drying clothes when you have to use a public Laundromat. And a new camera lens can really freshen up the taking of pictures.

All your photos are great, but that first one is just stunning, and I love the one in the florist shop.

I like the photo of the yellow flowers in the straight lines pointing toward the hills. It's not something that I see around here, so it makes the photo even more interesting.

I really like the way your eyes see a pic. Subject matter seems so upfront and honest. All the different subjects make a series of photos fun to look at. Nothing boring here.

The photo of the farm field with yellow flowers is great and I love the photos of individual flowers. Isn't a long lens great?

That's an amazing scene in the first picture...so different from anything I see around here. I wonder what the yellow flowers are.

I've just finished reading your July posts! Some were Very thought provoking, some very entertaining, all well written.

Photos are great. The Pink ones are called naked ladies. We have lots of them around our land and I always chuckle when I think about their name. They are called this because they first grow leaves in spring which die off. Then in late summer they shoot up stalks with flowers and no leaves.

Tomorrow night I read August and maybe September.
