13/365 Flat Line at Sunset

The Daily Shoot: Make a photograph that emphasizes the horizon today and post it.

At sunset, Gingee and I drove over to the Marina Dunes State Park (Marina, Central Coast California) parking lot so that I could hop out and make a digital photograph of the horizon at sunset. Might you have cropped this photograph differently?

I thought I would try cropping again to emphasize the horizon. Here's what I came up with. Which do you like?

I found your blog because you ended up posting on mine. You have some really nice pictures. I just have one question...Is this part of a project you are working on? Where do you get these assignments?

The colors are absolutely gorgeous. We used to live in Fresno and would drive over to the Central Coast, loved it!

I like both very much! But I think the last one was better, it has more effect :) They are great! :)

I love two photos. The first is very nice to appear on your perspective, the beach and people. the second one can fully enjoy the beautiful, soft colors and the merger and transition between them. Both are spectacular and very enjoyable. Greetings.

I like number one with some people in it, but the other one is also beautiful, a bit dreamy.

Wonderful sky with ocean! I like 1st shot. It is good there are some people on the beach. That is a nice scene.

Nice capture! If I have to choose it is the one with the people. Using the rule of thirds it emphasizes the horizon more, to my eye. Also it is a much clearer pic with less cropping.

The full scene is the best. Without it, you have no relation to the horizon.
